Came up a couple metal ties short
Having never done this before, it’s harder than I expected but after a little practice it gets easier. I’m pleased with how it turned out. The driver’s side could be prettier, but it’s okay.
For various Reasons I did the center pipes, for the most part, together. This isn’t very pretty but it worked. I’d do it a bit differently if I did it again.
Not a whole lot between now and putting the engine in the car, just need some time really.

Looks cool!
Any certain reason you did it? I hope the pipes are 304 :p

Yeah time is a bitch! I need that to get more done on the truck. I could go work on the interior while my friend does some body work but I don’t have time.

Looks good, keeps a lot of heat out of the engine bay.
They’re cheapish mild steel headers; for a car that doesn’t see weather they’ll be fine for a good while.

It is difficult. Be proud you did it. I paid a shop to do mine on my former Camaro. Under hood temps will take a good dive.

I may redo the center two pipes on the one... not sure yet. Not really happy with them but they’re not
bad
.

Mock them up and see what it looks like under the hood. I’d only redo the center pipes if you can see into it and it looks like crap, or if the hole is big enough to swallow a dropped bolt lol.

It can definitely catch a bolt in there. It’s probably pretty well out of sight but I know it’s ugly. T
o redo it how I think it should be I might need more wrap too
, not certain.

Out of sight, out of mind.

It would be out of sight, and I’m indeed out of my mind so I redid it.

Lol. I’ll remember this when I need headers wrapped again, you’re an expert now!

Are you sure you don’t work at the same place as me? “You’ve done this once so you’re the expert!”
